I was recently given the opportunity to review a box from BePawsitive which is a Pet Subscription Box sending a monthly box of organic pet treats. Each month they send you and your dog a new flavor of their delicious oven baked dog treats right to your door for as little as $13/month.
With each treat box they send to a customer, an animal shelter or rescue organization also receives a box of treats. Their mission is to provide the highest quality all natural, USDA certified organic dog treats for your dog and at the same time give back to those dogs in need of a little extra love. Animal shelter staff and volunteers use their treats to reward dogs during obedience training to help get them ready for new homes. Dogs that are leash trained and obedient are adopted at a much faster rate. Another key factor for adoption is the interaction between the dog and person looking to adopt during the meet and greet. Dogs that are loving and energetic are usually adopted quickly, however some dogs are more reserved and shy especially around new people. Being able to show the dog that your intentions are good by giving them a treat can be an ice breaker and creates a welcoming atmosphere between a person and dog.
I LOVE supporting companies that give back and animal rescue is very near and dear to my heart. I’m a foster mommy for The Big Fluffy Dog Rescue and have since added them to the list of rescues BePawsitive will help. Makes me feel really good inside .
Here is the box as it came to me and the 1st look. I was pleasantly surprised to see items beyond treats. I wasn’t expecting that .
They also provided a profile of a dog who’d be receiving help thanks to BePawsitive. It’s nice to see a focus on shelter dogs and dogs that aren’t pure bred. The # of dogs in shelter waiting for homes is epidemic and glad to see some focus put on it.
And here is the information card they sent.
So on to what you clicked this link for, my review of the products BePawsitive sent. I used Amazon for retail when available. If not I use the company’s website.
1. BePawsitive treats, 11 ounces (Retail $10.00) – I am guessing on the retail since this is an exclusive item. I viewed some all natural treats on Petco’s website as a guide. I love that the ingredient list for these treats is short and I can pronounce everything on it!!! Makes me feel confident in giving these treats to my furry kids .
2. Crunchkins Edible Dog Card (Retail $3.99) – My one critique with BePawsitive has to do with this item. I avoid rawhide made in China over concerns of chemicals used. So, I wasn’t happy to see that this was not made in the USA. The founder of Crunchkins is a veterinarian making this even more surprising.
3. My Dog Paws Lotion Bar, sample size (Retail $1.00) – This is a great idea. My senior dog, Tigger, can get dry paws. I think as dogs get older they can be affected by this more. I’ll have to give this a try. I love the short and simple ingredient list. I have complete confidence in using this knowing he’s likely to lick some off.
The total value of this box is $14.99. While this is less than the cost of a box when purchased month to month, it was nice to be exposed to fresh & healthy dog treats as well as other products. While I didn’t like the dog card I was pleased to receive the paws lotion bar. In addition the fact that BePawsitive also supplies treats to rescues and shelters also carries a value to me . I’d recommend people sign up for a 3, 6 or 12-month subscription which maximizes value!
